2 minutes 53 seconds of Plaid Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving! Will you be celebrating Plaid Friday?

Plaid Friday is an alternative to Black Friday – it’s a fun way to show your support for local small businesses.

It’s easy…

Wear plaid as you shop and dine at small businesses in the 253-area code on the Friday after Thanksgiving – and throughout the holiday season!

Then, when someone compliments your plaid ensemble, tell them about going plaid in support of neighborhood small biz.

When we shop and dine locally – rather than from national chains or online megacorps – more of each dollar stays in our communities.

Here are a few of my favorite places to shop during the holidays. Look for me to be wearing plaid:
During the Tacoma Haul Crawl at Stocklist Goods
In Freighthouse Station at Adorned Abode
Along Tacoma’s 6th Ave, at Komadre Kombucha and Jade & Co.
At Paper Luxe in Fircrest and Gig Harbor
On Tacoma’s N 21st Street for La Paloma’s Lazy Sunday Market
Wandering the stalls of Waterfront Market at Ruston
In Proctor at the Pacific Northwest Shop
Browsing wares from local artisans & makers at the Tacoma Night Market

These are some of my regular haunts, but they’re just the tip of the iceberg…

Keep your eyes peeled for independently-owned businesses as you travel across the 253, and pop in to check out places that catch your eye.

Speaking of small local businesses. Want to win a $25.30 gift certificate to a local eatery? There’s still time to enter the November prize drawing: Enter here. Or/and follow @Tacoma.Aroma.Flavor on IG & FB for additional opportunities to enter.

Gratefully and Plaidfully yours,
Kris

P.S. Yes, there’s supposed to be a video embedded, but technology is being cranky with me today. Check out the video on Vimeo.
